I recently had the joy of chatting with Madeleine of Clover Paperie to learn about her Raleigh-based wedding stationery business and have some fun photographing her work. Madeleine and I first met on a wedding shoot back in the spring. I loved her work and she was such a cool person, that I wanted to get to know more about her and her business. I asked if I could come to her office and ask her a few interview questions. She graciously agreed! It was such a cool opportunity to peer behind the scenes of a the wedding invitation process, as usually on a wedding day I don’t get much interaction with wedding stationers.
Read on to see what Madeleine had to say, including advice for brides as well as when to book your wedding stationery!

Clover Paperie started after I was planning my own wedding. I ended up loving the process so much more than I had imagined! With so many of my girlfriends getting engaged, it was the perfect opportunity to get started in the wedding industry and see what could happen. It’s been almost three years and I still love what I do! I have a sweet rescue pup, Clover, who I absolutely adore so naturally I had to name my business after her.
My work is almost entirely custom, which means no two designs are the same. I love being able to bring each couple’s unique vision for their wedding day to life, tying in special elements like a venue sketch or watercolor florals to really make it personal and beautiful.

If couples are interested in Save the Dates, I recommend reaching out at least 13 months before the wedding. For wedding invitations, I recommend 6-7 months before the wedding! It’s honestly never too early, especially if you have a particular stationer in mind who could book up quickly, or if you’re interested in embellishments like wax seals, ribbons, etc.

Think of the feeling you want your guests to get when they open up your wedding invitations – after all, this is the first impression they’re getting of your wedding! Custom invitations are a great way to set the tone and get everyone excited for the big day.

A huge thanks to Madeleine for her time! This was such a cool look behind the scenes of the wedding stationery process, and her work is absolutely beautiful!

(P.S. she also serves couples around the country, too!)

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m pretty easygoing, always up for a good laugh, & endlessly inspired by the real connection that makes a wedding day so meaningful. What I do is help you feel totally comfortable and taken care of, so you can be fully present while I document photos that feel like you.
Send a message my way — I’ll be on the other side, already excited and cheering you on.
joyful, authentic wedding images are my jam
I want to hear it all, from your first time meeting to your wedding day vision. I'll probably be sitting in my office on the phone, drinking a coffee and getting excited about how to honor your love & life story.
