The Barn of Chapel Hill Wedding | Becca & Ian

A Fall Wedding at the Barn of Chapel Hill at Wild Flora Farm

In October of this year Becca and Ian got married at The Barn of Chapel Hill at Wild Flora Farm. This is a gorgeous wedding venue just outside of Chapel Hill, NC. Becca and Ian’s day was perfect, with gorgeous fall colors, perfect weather, and an awesome dance party to cap off the night! Their wedding day was also one of the longest I’ve ever photographed with a whopping fourteen hours of coverage! (Most couples need only eight to ten, but more on that below!) Keep reading to learn more about the Barn of Chapel Hill, their in-house florist, and Becca and Ian’s amazing wedding day.

Becca & Ian’s Wedding Day

Alright I’m sure you’re wondering why they needed fourteen hours of coverage. Let me tell you, I’m happy to do it, but this is not my norm! Most couples choose only 8-10 hour packages. However, Becca and Ian chose to have two wedding ceremonies on their wedding day!

The first was a small intimate ceremony at St Thomas More Catholic Church. The guests at this point were primarily immediate family. Becca and Ian then held a larger ceremony again, plus the reception, at the Barn of Chapel Hill for their extended family and friends. This untraditional wedding day approach allowed them to have the best of both worlds–intimacy and privacy during one of the most sacred moments of their lives, as well as a big celebration shared with their whole community!

Here are just a few of the images from the morning.

The Barn of Chapel Hill

Right after the church ceremony ended, the newlyweds and their families made it over the Barn of Chapel Hill. This venue was the perfect spot to not only have their large ceremony and reception, but it was such a nice spot for a relaxing afternoon between the ceremonies!

One of my favorite features of the Barn is the bridal suite. The venue has a gorgeous bright bridal suite in the loft in the main building. The natural light is abundant, which makes for great bridal prep pictures! Plus they have a nice little coffee station in the suite if you need a little pick-me-up!

The fellas have a dressing room as well. Just across the parking lot the guys have a little cabin for getting ready. In contrast to the bright bridal suite, the groom’s room is dark and moody, a fun atmosphere for the guys! Plus, they have a fire pit and little putting green in the back! Ian and the groomsmen loved hanging out here throughout the afternoon.

Fall Florals by Wild Flora Flowers

Another major perk to hosting your Wedding at the Barn of Chapel Hill is their in-house florist, Wild Flora Flowers! I am consistently blown away by their work. Becca and Ian chose warm, fall florals for their October wedding. Their ceremony arrangements consisted of coral, burgundy, blush, and white, with a few bright fall leaves thrown in the mix! The bouquets were a bit more muted, with burgundy, pink, blush, and white flowers. I wish I was more of a flower expert to go into more detail about the specific kinds of flowers used, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

A Fun Reception

After Becca and Ian said I-do (again) in front of their extended family and friends, it was time to party!! They kicked off the reception with Jello shots for all their guests to set the tone for the evening. Light-up sneakers and flowing cocktails also kept the party feeling lively all night long! Bunn DJ Company did an amazing job as always keeping the dance floor going. Even at hour fourteen I was still having a great time photographing the floor! The day really flew by! They ended the night with a bubble exit, and said a sweet goodbye to all their guests.

Kind Words from Becca & Ian

Our wedding photos are GORGEOUS! They are everything I could have ever wanted and more. The detail Megan captured throughout our day was just so perfect. We will cherish our pictures forever and have already framed some for our walls.

Megan truly went above and beyond to capture our day piece by piece. She made the day go smoothly by having a great mix of candid and posed photos. She worked her photo opportunities around our day instead of the other way around. Megan was an absolute joy to work with and she gave us memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. Megan’s photos help showcase the details and the emotion that we shared on our wedding day. And to wrap it up, the album she created for us shows off every important moment with her beautiful photos. I would choose Megan over and over again to photograph my wedding.
