A Pastel Spring Wedding at One of Raleigh’s Most Charming Venues

This past May, I had the joy of photographing Regan and Matt’s wedding at Historic Wakefield Barn in Wake Forest, NC. Friends and family kept talking about how perfectly these two balance each other—Regan with her fun, talkative personality, and Matt with his calm, steady presence. Watching them together, you could see exactly what everyone meant!

Regan’s mother described the wedding as “an enchanting fairytale,” and I couldn’t agree more! Between the pastel florals from Expressions of Love Florist that dripped from the ceiling, the warm spring sunshine, and the stunning Historic Wakefield Barn backdrop, it truly felt like you had stepped into a scene from a movie.

A First Look and a Visit with the Horses

Regan and Matt decided to share a first look before the ceremony, and it was such a special moment. You could see Matt’s whole face light up when he saw Regan in her dress. Afterward, we got their wedding party and bride/groom portraits done so that they could enjoy more time with guests at cocktail hour. During their portrait time, they got a visit from the horses that live on-site! What a sweet at memorable perk of getting married at Historic Wakefield Barn!

A Wakefield Barn Wedding to Remember

Their ceremony took place inside the barn, which was beautifully decorated with pastel blooms and fun spring colors. After they exchanged vows, guests headed into a reception full of energy, thanks to an incredible live band that kept the dance floor going all night.

From the emotional first look to the joyful dancing, every part of Regan and Matt’s day felt personal, warm, and full of love. I’m so grateful I got to capture it all in such a gorgeous setting.
