A Bright & Colorful Wedding Styled Shoot

Over the summer I had the opportunity to host a colorful, romantic styled shoot at the Maxwell, one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Raleigh! I am so happy with how it all turned out. The inspiration for our wedding styled shoot was bright, colorful, and romantic, with a big focus on the florals. Our florist, Brushed by Bec Florals, did a phenomenal job! From the ombre ceremony arch to the lush mantel arrangements, we were met with romantic summer vibes at every step!

We began the day with hair and makeup, provided by The Pretty Barrette and Ariel K Beauty. The Maxwell has a gorgeous bridal suite! Brides always love the large windows and cozy lounge furniture. For our bride’s hair we chose a sleek, elegant up-do, and for makeup a soft glam look (Ariel is an expert at the glam look!) After our bride, Kristen, put on the gown from Saavi Bridal we just had to take a few portraits in the bridal suite. I’m still obsessing over these shots a couple months later!

Romantic Summer Ceremony

After Kristen was ready, we headed to the patio to photograph our ceremony. We saw dark summer rain clouds rolling in, but thankfully the storm held off just long enough! These ceremony portraits may just be some of my favorites of all time now! I absolutely love the romantic roses up against the bright wall, plus Kristen and Eric looked absolutely breathtaking here. 

Colorful Reception Details

As the storm rolled in we moved inside for portraits by the sweetheart table and a cake-cutting. Party Reflections provided our velvet lilac linens as well as the beautiful dishes and flatware. Pro photographer tip: go for the textured linens! They will add such a fun visual element to your day and your detail photos that much more interesting! Lori with LB Cakes provided the cake and cake stand. The white textured cake was the perfect neutral backdrop for our floral meadow. I am always here for a floral cake meadow!

A Unique Spin on the Champagne Tower

The final touch to our styled shoot was our colorful cocktail hour, dreamed up by our wonderful coordinator Tova, one of the Maxwell’s very own event coordinators. Our cocktail tower was designed to match the color palette of the entire shoot, inspired by indigo Empress Gin, rosé, and of course, champagne. With the Maxwell’s in-house bar services, couples can be as creative and colorful as they want with their cocktail or champagne towers!
