Romantic and Versatile Wedding Florist

One of my favorite Raleigh wedding florists to work alongside is Victoria of Falling in Lovely Florals. Not only is she an incredibly kind person, but her floral work is gorgeous! I’m so impressed with her variety. She can beautifully arrange both wonderfully bright colors, as well as elegant neutrals, too.

I asked Victoria a few questions about her business and also to give some advice for brides looking to book their florist. She gave some incredible advice, such as how early you need to book. She also provided tips for finding inspiration if you’re not yet sure what kind of colors or design you want.

If you’re looking for a Raleigh wedding florist, I highly recommend Victoria with Falling in Lovely Florals! Read on to learn a little bit more about her and see examples of her work!

Tell us a little bit about your business: how did you get started and how long have you been working in the wedding industry?

Falling in Lovely is a wedding and special event floral design company. We design for any event, from weddings, of course, to small intimate gatherings, large meetings, and everything in between. Whether you’re throwing a baby shower, a bridal shower, a birthday party, or a corporate event, we’ve got you covered with beautiful floral arrangements that will be carefully designed to beautify your event.  When Falling In Lovely was started, it was done out of the deep desire to add beauty to the lives of those around me. Now almost two years later, the mission is the same, to spread the love of Christ through beautiful creations.

What is your favorite part about being a wedding florist?

Truly, my favorite part of working with my clients is turning their vision into reality! I love watching their faces light up when they see the flowers–the smiles, the tears of joy, the genuine happiness they have taking it all in. It’s my number one goal to bring their vision to life and if I achieve that, my day is made! My favorite part of the wedding day is handing the bride her bouquet and having her see it for the first time.

How soon do couples need to book their wedding florist?

Book them sooner rather than later, because florists book up 6-18 months in advance! As soon as the date is set and the venue is booked, I would recommend booking the florist next. When we say we book up, we really do, and we hate to turn away customers due to unavailability in our calendar. You don’t have to know your entire vision when booking a florist. If you aren’t sure exactly what florals you want, your florist can help you create a vision that you’ll love! But it’s important to get the deposit paid and your wedding date secured before someone else does.

What advice would you give a couple looking to book their wedding florist?

When looking for floral inspiration for your wedding, go on Pinterest! There are so many beautiful designs on there and it can help you choose which way you want to go in terms of flowers. Create a board and start pinning anything that you like, as small as boutonnieres to as big as floral arches. It doesn’t have to be exactly what you want–it can be the style, the colors, or the setup that you’re drawn to. Then when you reach out to your florist, share that Pinterest board with them. It’s a great starting point for your florist to see what types of florals you’re drawn to and to build off of that!

Don’t try to keep up with trends or do what’s “in”, because trends come and go and when you look back at your wedding photos in five, ten, or 15 years, when the trend is long gone, you’re going to want to still love what you see. Choose colors and flowers that make your heart happy!

If it’s within budget and you’re choosing between lots of smaller floral arrangements or one larger floral installation, choose the larger installation. It makes a gorgeous statement piece!  Don’t be afraid to ask your florist questions. Find a florist who has a portfolio that matches your style, trust them, and let them make your wedding beautiful as you enjoy your special day to the fullest!
