If you’re searching for a modern Raleigh wedding venue with exposed brick, historic charm, and downtown views, The Stockroom at 230 deserves a spot at the top of your list!
Located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh on Fayetteville Street, this industrial-chic space blends warmth and history with a clean, modern style, making it one of my favorite venues to photograph as a Raleigh wedding photographer.
If you’re planning a mid-sized wedding and love the look of exposed brick, old hardwood floors, and natural light, you may have just found your venue.
The Stockroom at 230 is located on the second floor of the historic Carolina Trust Building on Fayetteville Street. Built in 1902, the space originally functioned as a literal stockroom for the business below. Today, it has been beautifully repurposed into one of Raleigh’s most unique wedding venues.
The combinations of exposed brick wall, original hardwood floors, lattice work ceilings, and warm strings of market lights creates an atmosphere that feels both romantic and relaxed. It’s not overly trendy but not overly traditional either.
From a photography perspective, the textures and tones here are incredible. The brick adds warmth without overpowering skin tones, and the lighting creates a cozy flow during receptions. It doesn’t feel too dark or moody.

One of the most recognizable features of The Stockroom at 230 is the large chalkboard wall. Couples can use it as:
If you’re not artistically inclined, don’t worry — the venue provides a list of recommended chalk artists who specialize in creating stunning custom designs. It’s one of those details that feels personal without requiring a huge decor budget.

One of my favorite parts of this venue is the upstairs getting-ready suite knows as The Glass Box. Located on the fifth floor of the same building, this space includes:
If you care about bright and beautiful getting-ready photos, this room makes a massive difference. The natural light is ideal for:
Some of my favorite downtown Raleigh wedding portraits have happened right here on this very deck. The Glass Box also provides a nice location for small groups of family portraits if you’d like to stay out of the way for the room flip happening below between the ceremony and reception.

In addition to The Glass Box, The Stockroom also offers an additional getting-ready suite (typically used for the groom and groomsmen) on the same floor as the main ceremony and reception space. Some venues in the area only offer one suite, or the two suites they have can be close together. A huge venue perk here is having a separate second suite that is convenient, yet far enough from the bridal suite to avoid any unwanted peeks of the bride before the ceremony!

Guest Capacity
Up to 175 for a seated dinner with dance floor
Included with Rental
– Two separate getting-ready suites
– Tables & chairs
– Wedding rehearsal
– Elevator and ramp accessibility
Catering
The venue partners with Empire Eats Catering (their parent company) and offers $500 off when you use their catering services. You are also allowed to choose from a small list of other approved caterers.
Alcohol Policy
Unlike many Raleigh wedding venues, The Stockroom at 230 allows you to bring your own alcoholic beverages. This is a huge plus for some couples looking for more flexibility with their alcohol budget.
Option to Use All Saints Chapel
For couples who would like to use The Stockroom at 230 for their reception but prefer a chapel wedding, the venue partners with All Saints Chapel for a special package that still includes use of the Glass Box.
At the time of this writing, The Stockroom at 230 rental rates for ceremonies and receptions range from $4,500 to $8,000 depending on the season. Reception only rentals are also available, but do not offer access to The Glass Box. These rental rates range from $3,500 to $5,500. I recommend checking with the venue for the most current pricing, as rates for any venue are always subject to change.

Weddings at The Stockroom at 230 tend to feel:
It’s especially well-suited for couples who value atmosphere and connection over excessive decor. That space already has character. You don’t have to over-do it with styling.

Below you can see highlight galleries from weddings I have photographed at the Stockroom at 230:
I’d also like to share a gallery from a wedding at All Saints Chapel, The Stockroom’s partner chapel venue. This couple chose to keep their reception at All Saints Chapel, but the bride got ready at the Glass Box.

If you love old industrial architecture, want a true downtown Raleigh wedding venue, and care about timeless, natural photographs that feel warm and authentic, then The Stockroom at 230 might be a perfect fit.
